AFNI ≤ $36,502: Max Benefit
$36,502 < AFNI ≤ $79,000: Benefit = Max - Rate1 × (AFNI - $36,502)
AFNI > $79,000: Benefit = Max - Base - Rate2 × (AFNI - $79,000)The CCB phases out based on your family net income and the number of qualified children. Lower-income families receive the full maximum benefit, which tapers progressively as income rises.

No! The Canada Child Benefit is 100% tax-free. You do not report it as taxable income on your annual personal T1 tax return.
AFNI is the sum of Line 23600 net income from both parents' tax returns, minus any Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) or RDSP income received. Contributing to an RRSP lowers your net income, which can directly increase your monthly CCB payment!
The CRA recalculates CCB payments every July based on your previous year's tax return filed in April/May. Payments are deposited monthly around the 20th of each month.
